What is ChangeMaker's Institute?

This virtual program provides opportunities for high-school girls to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective catalysts for change in their communities and beyond. If you strive to create a more just and equitable future, then let us help you transform this passion into action.

Our ChangeMaking Courses

Our courses are, first and foremost, exciting and engaging!  We connect girls from all over the world and engage with them in critical discussions about real issues happening in their local and respective communities, and how to initiate change. 

ChangeMaker's 101: Basics of Changemaking

ChangeMaker's 101:
History of Changemaking

In this virtual course, students will learn the basics of the social change sector, how to identify and understand systems of oppression, and the power of consensus-building and collective impact. Students will also learn the history of changemaking and study important changemakers. Students will walk away from this course with a new understanding of what changemaking is and the various frameworks to enact change in their communities.

ChangeMaker's 102: Passion and Purpose

ChangeMaker's 102:
Passion and Purpose

In this virtual course, we facilitate powerful self-inquiry experiences for students so that they engage with a deeper understanding of their vision, values, and sense of purpose in the world. Students gain an understanding of their identity, how society has shaped them, their everyday thoughts, and how these impact our ability to make change in our own lives and communities. No prerequisite required.

ChangeMaker's 103: Passion to Action

ChangeMaker's 103: Passion to Action

After completing ChangeMaker’s 101 and 102, students will move from planning to action and implementation while developing their leadership skills. They will pinpoint the change they want to make in a system of oppression that personally impacts their life, and then gain the skills to build consensus among similarly positioned peers, grow a team of powerful allies, build a strategic plan, and ultimately make a case for collective impact.

Prerequisite courses: ChangeMaker’s 101 and 102. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive the ChangeMaker’s Certificate.

We offer a limited amount of need-based financial aid for each course. If tuition is a financial barrier, please complete our financial aid application by September 1, 2024 for Lessons in Liberation and the 2025 courses. 

The ChangeMaker's Certificate

Our virtual certificate program provides opportunities for passionate high-school girls to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to bring about a new paradigm in change-making. The road ahead will require a new kind of leader, and ChangeMaker’s Institute is designed to produce them.

Certificate Requirements

Successfully complete the following courses during high school:

ChangeMaker’s 101: Basics of Changemaking

ChangeMaker’s 102: Passion and Purpose

ChangeMaker’s 103: Passion to Action

Students who successfully complete all three courses in the series will earn the PCGL ChangeMaker’s Certificate that exemplifies their passion and dedication to becoming an effective, driven changemaker. Students may choose to take one course per year or all of them in a year; it’s up to you and what you think you can manage in terms of your individual workload and schedule.

In the course, you will have opportunity to learn new skills, gain knowledge, and broaden your horizons. I encourage every young woman to take the leap, embrace this course and unleash your full potential.
I learned to be more present, listen properly and acknowledge what I hear. I learned that personal development is part of your journey as a leader and that collaboration isn't always about who you collaborate with but what you will come out of that collaboration.
What resonates with me the most is the fact that this program allowed me to communicate with myself in the deepest and the most meaningful way. This program allowed me to find peace with my thoughts, abilities and weaknesses. Moreover, having strong women by my side in the safe space makes it easier to be myself.
This course is a wonderful introduction to the actual process of creating policy/framework for change. I know a lot of girls my age who know they want to change the world, they just don't know how to go about it, and I think this course would be really inspiring to them.
I feel like ChangeMaker's is a platform that is allowing me to grow as an individual but also be more aware of my surroundings and my actions. It allows myself and others to come as we are and be unapologetic about it.
